Date of Spill: March 24, 2020 Time of Spill: 1400 to 1850

 

Duration of Spill:_4 hours and 50 minutes

 

Amount of Spill: 1,450 gallons

 

Describe the method used to determine amount: The wastewater that was flowing out of the lift station was collected in a container. As the container was being filled, it was being timed with a watch. The wastewater was calculated to be overflowing at a rate of 5 GPM.

 

Location of spill: City of Maysville Lift Station # 2

 

 

What waterway was effected? _Unnamed Tributary to the Grove River

 

Describe what happened. What caused the spill? Is the spill ongoing? Give details of the corrective actions. Has the repair been completed? Attach pictures of before and after the repair and extra sheets if needed for description.   Due to excessive rainfall, Lift station # 2 in the City of Maysville, overflowed at an estimated 5 gallons per minute, for four hours and fifty minutes. The two pumps were operating correctly, they just could not keep up with the flow. The spill is not ongoing. The City of Maysville is moving forward with repair/replacement of the existing sanitary sewer collection system which will include line replacement and sewer manhole refurbishing. Areas of need will be based upon results of the smoke testing and video camera work that has been performed.

EASTER EGG HUNT

Come join us for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the City of Maysville and The Maysville Public Library!

The egg hunt will begin at 10AM on April 11TH at The Maysville City Park. After the egg hunt is finished there will be prizes for the children as well as the opportunity to grab some lunch. BBQ plates that include two sides and a sandwich will be $6. There will also be drinks and desserts for sale. ALL of the proceeds benefit the library.
