Describe the method used to determine amount: The wastewater that was flowing out of the lift station was collected in a container. As the container was being filled, it was being timed with a watch. The wastewater was calculated to be overflowing at a rate of 5 GPM.

Due to excessive rainfall, Lift station # 2 in the City of Maysville, overflowed at an estimated 5 gallons per minute, for four hours and fifty minutes. The two pumps were operating correctly, they just could not keep up with the flow. The spill is not ongoing. The City of Maysville is moving forward with repair/replacement of the existing sanitary sewer collection system which will include line replacement and sewer manhole refurbishing. Areas of need will be based upon results of the smoke testing and video camera work that has been performed.
